The Transience of Things is a kinetic sculpture which focuses on the interdependence of memory and consciousness, exploring notions of beauty in transience by examining the invisible boundaries between time and space.
 
The work consists of a mirrored box depicting the repeated cycle of a light bulb falling through space. Its aesthetics is primarily oriented towards evoking in the viewer empathy towards the inevitable passing of all things, but yet the subconscious realization of its immense beauty by celebrating its very state of impermanence.
 
Commissioned as part of the Noise Singapore Showcase 2013 at Ion Orchard.
